The oldest Catholic church in Bucharest. In 1716 there was a wood church on that place and it was repaired and developed with the contribution of austrian Emperor Leopold I and voievod Nicolae Mavrocordat. Actual size and form of the church is from 1848, after the old place was damaged by a fire. The great bell of the church is from 1855 and was made with the money donated by Emperor Franz Josef.
